Residential Services
EPIC Long Island’s Residential Program operates 18 group homes, located throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties for 146 adults who have developmental disabilities. Each of EPIC Long Island’s residences is unique, and the individuals who live there have various abilities as well as life challenges. They range from 18 to over 80 years of age. We are committed to ensuring that each residence is well-kept and maintained. Every home is adapted to fulfill the needs of individuals while providing a safe, comfortable living environment in a family-style setting.

Each of the individuals is treated with the utmost dignity and respect as we provide opportunities for them to enhance their overall quality of life based on their interests and abilities. Our staff encourages independence at home and in the community. A variety of recreational activities are offered to everyone. Individuals participate in activities of their choice including vacations, theater shows, museums, bowling, and concerts. They also plan celebrations throughout the year, and family, friends, and advocates are always welcome to attend.
We provide services and support the individuals’ needs and modify their homes as indicated so that as their level of care changes, they can age in place; allowing them to remain in their homes that are comfortable and familiar to them, surrounded by staff and peers who know them well. Regardless of their level of need, each person participates in their community to the fullest extent possible. For many, this may include attending day programs, others may volunteer or work, some attend school, others are retired, and all are encouraged to explore hobbies and interests to attain fulfillment.
