A Message from CEO & President
Since our founding in 1955, South Shore Guidance Center has earned the trust of the community through culturally informed and effective services as well as through collaborative partnerships with local schools and agencies. A multicultural staff meets the needs of the South Shore Guidance Center’s increasingly diverse population with bilingual counseling services and close familiarity with the cultures of the communities we serve.
At South Shore Guidance Center, we work to help children, adults, and families navigate through difficult emotional experiences. Our services, including assessments, treatment and support services, are adapted to the individual needs of children, adults, and their families. South Shore Guidance Center offers individual, group, multi-family and psycho-educational therapy. We provide emergency services including the Nassau County Mobile Crisis Team, Home-Based Crisis Intervention and After Care Programs. In addition, we offer NYS approved substance abuse counseling and treatment therapies.
With over six decades of experience, South Shore Guidance Center is highly qualified to address the behavioral health needs of the community. Through a strong network of community connections, clinical expertise, cultural competence, innovative training in trauma-informed care, and a passionate commitment to continuous improvement, we are equipped to respond knowledgeably and sensitively to the evolving needs of the people who access our services.
South Shore Guidance Center is dedicated to helping all individuals and families in Nassau County to recover from life’s challenges and traumas while promoting social and emotional well-being. Each year, over 3,000 children, adolescents, adults, and families are reached through our robust set of programs and services.
I am honored to be the CEO & President of South Shore Guidance Center, and I look forward to building upon the exceptional care we provide to our communities in our new, beautiful, state-of-the-art building located at 114 Church Street in Freeport.
